Personal Weather Station Project

I'd been running a personal weather station since the turn of the century. I literally mounted it, January 1st, 2000. Having survived y2k (I'm in IT, so it was a long night), with this still under the christamas tree as a gift, it seemed the perfect time. None of the data was ever published anywhere.

This little Davis Weather Monitor II, has been chugging fathfully away up there for almost 20 years. I decided to breathe some new life into some old technology, as a project, combining several of my interests/skills. I managed to get my hands on a long-discontinued serial "WeatherLink" interface for the WMII. Hooked it to an original Raspberry Pi 1 B+, and got a Weewx instance up and running. It now publishes data to a handful of weather sites, as well as it's own webpage (a perpetual work in progress) hosted on AWS s3. It has been quite a fun little project. I blame most of it on a coworker (Thanks Don), who got me interested in the Citizens Weather Project (one of the services I publish to). An addition thanks to Jardi Martinez who wrote a weewx driver for the WMII and shared it with the community.
